History

Since 1987, Winston-Salem Business Inc. has been recruiting new businesses to Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.  Since 1987, WSBI has assisted over 100 companies representing more than $1 billion in tax-base investment and more than 10,000 new jobs.  For nearly a decade, WSBI fell under the umbrella of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce.  In 2001, WSBI returned to its status as an independent private organization in an effort to better focus on recruiting new businesses to the community. 

In 2005, WSBI assisted in the expansion and relocation of nine companies that will create 436 new jobs and increase the tax base by more than $11 million.
